Instead, the electricity is better used for working with the gas motor to create a very smooth and quiet all-wheel drive crossover. Around 10 miles of range means it couldn’t make the average commute solely under battery power. There is a fully-electric mode on this plug-in hybrid. This extra power can offset the added weight of the hybrid system, and a fully charged 350e is a little quicker than the purely gas-powered version. That’s a 31% and 51% jump respectively from the next-rung down, the non-hybrid GLC 300 4Matic. This combines with a 2.0-liter turbo gas motor under the hood to generate up to 315 horsepower and 413 lb-ft of torque. Cargo space is diminished because the battery for the 85-killowatt electric motor utilizes some of the rear load floor.
